Oki further reiterated Government’s commitment to ensure that buildings in the State are professionally built through strict adherence to Lagos State Building Codes and through LASBCA’s intensified identification, monitoring and supervision of ongoing constructions in the State.

He noted that in recent times, the Agency has intensified its efforts to ensure that the built industry in Lagos State is well regulated, saying that this has resulted in a reduction in the number of buildings that do not meet the required standards, and by extension, reduced the risk of building collapse in the State.

While appreciating LASBCA’s efforts in curbing the menace of building collapse in Lagos State with their constant monitoring and supervision, the CEO of Dozek Construction Limited, Mr. Don Nzekwesi, one of the donors, stated that his company decided to donate the Toyota Coaster bus as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility to help facilitate the Agency’s enforcement drive for a serene and comfortable environment where buildings are well constructed in the State.

He implored the agency to continue in the discharge of its duties by being proactive in its statutory responsibilities for a better Lagos that is free of building collapse.
