In furtherance of its effort in ridding the State of building collapse, the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) has met with the Executive Members of the Bricklayers Association of Nigeria, Lagos Branch at its Headquarters in Ikeja, GRA.
While receiving members of the Association, the General Manager, LASBCA, Arc Gbolahan Owodunni Oki, implored them to always follow due process when contacted for jobs by asking from the building owners/developers of their building plan approval before they commence the construction.
Oki also encouraged the bricklayers to build a cordial relationship with other artisans in the building industry such as iron benders, carpenters amongst others in order to make joint decisions that will help improve work done at site which will in turn reduce building collapse in the State.
He reiterated the Government’s readiness to work with the artisans as this will help restore sanity in the built industry.
Speaking on behalf of the Association, Mr. Paul Atewolara pledged their support to the State Government and assured that their members will strictly adhere to the laid down rules and regulations guiding building construction in Lagos State.
