The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Physical Planning & Urban Development (MPP&UD), Engr. Oluwole Sotire today met with the management team of Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) management team at its Headquarters in Ikeja, GRA.
During the meeting the PS admonished officials to adhere strictly to the rules and regulations that established the Agency most especially when discharging their statutory responsibilities as this will raise the public general perception of LASBCA in a positive light.
He also applauded the efforts the management team in seeing to it that the menace of building collapse in the State is reduced to the barest minimum but still urged them to opt their game for full actualization of LASBCA set goals and objectives in which one of them is a zero tolerance to building collapse in the State.
The General Manager, LASBCA, Arc. Gbolahan Owodunni Oki in his response thanked the PS for his visit and promised the Agency full commitment to nipping in the bud the menace of building collapse in the State through thorough monitoring, enforcement and identification of distressed buildings and by making sure that the building publics build according to Lagos State Building Codes.
